Chateau Clarke was acquired by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1973 and is situated in the appellation of Listrac Medoc. The vineyard is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which were replanted soon after Baron Edmond acquired the Chateau. Three wines are produced at the estate, the top cuvee Chateau Clarke, often needs more than five years bottle age to show its full potential. The 2010 vintage has started to emerge from it’s slumber offering a suave core of black fruit with tertiary development starting to emerge.
